Start of the Training Program at Freudenberg
• Over 100 trainees begin their programs at the site

AI-supported learning for individualized support, modern technologies, and collaboration in interdisciplinary teams: With the start of the new training year, 105 new apprentices and dual-track students are beginning their programs at the Freudenberg Training Center. A total of 61 young professionals are being prepared for the working world of the future by approximately 30 partner companies—including international names such as Amazon and Deutsche Post. Forty-four young talents are starting their apprenticeships with the Freudenberg Group; 355 young people are being trained at the site. Worldwide, there are around 500 trainees across 15 countries.
“An apprenticeship at Freudenberg gives young talents the opportunity to launch their careers using state-of-the-art technologies, with individualized support, and as part of interdisciplinary teams,” said Dr. Matthias Sckuhr, CTO of the Freudenberg Group, in his welcome address. “With us, they’ll find long-term prospects for further development in an international environment,” said Esther Loidl, Chief Human Resources Officer, who welcomed the new trainees.
Of the 44 young talents starting at Freudenberg, 14 positions are for technical apprenticeships, 8 for business-related apprenticeships, and a total of 22 for dual degree programs in business and technology. The most in-demand apprenticeships are for electronics technicians, mechatronics technicians, and industrial mechanics, as well as the dual degree program in business administration.
AI-Supported Learning in Apprenticeships
This year, the Freudenberg Group’s Training Center received the Hermann Schmidt Special Award from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training for the project “Learning Impulses Through AI – Adaptive Feedback in Apprenticeship Practice.” In this project, AI-supported feedback systems assist apprentices in metalworking and electrical trades by providing personalized feedback during their learning process.
The project demonstrates how artificial intelligence specifically promotes learning processes. “The award confirms our commitment to continuously advancing vocational training and responsibly leveraging the opportunities offered by new technologies,” said Raul Gonzalez, head of the training center.
Freudenberg offers around 30 training opportunities—17 apprenticeship programs and 13 dual degree programs in the fields of business, engineering, and IT, including future-oriented IT programs such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Sustainable Science and Technology, and Cybersecurity.
