Freudenberg Flow Technologies acquires Balmoral Comtec

Freudenberg strengthens business in energy sector

Weinheim, May 20, 2026. The Freudenberg Group is strengthening its business in the energy sector. The Freudenberg Flow Technologies Business Group has acquired Balmoral Comtec effective May 19, 2026, strengthening its global business unit Connectors and Sealing Solutions, a global leader in providing critical sealing and connector solutions, and services for the energy sector. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Balmoral Comtec, with over 45 years of experience, is a leading supplier of engineered buoyancy, cable protection, and thermal insulation product solutions serving the offshore oil and gas and wind industries. Balmoral Comtec is based in Aberdeen, Scotland, and employs 400 people at three locations in the United Kingdom. The company has a global footprint with customer projects in both the Oil & Gas and renewable energy markets in Europe, South America, and Asia.

With the acquisition, Freudenberg Flow Technologies further expands the capacities of its existing core business with products tailor-made for the Oil & Gas and Energy Transition markets. “Balmoral Comtec’s product portfolio complements our existing solution offering. The acquisition is an important milestone on our path to becoming the leading integrated solution provider for critical sealing systems, buoyancy and cable protection products, services, Engineering & Technology as well as Digitalization & Monitoring solutions to our global customer base,” Kollatschny emphasizes.
