The 16th Western China International Fair (WCIF) will be held in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, from November 3-14, 2016. Freudenberg, a leading global technology group, will participate at the fair to showcase innovative solutions and technology. For the first time, five Freudenberg companies – Freudenberg & Vilene Filter, EagleBurgmann, Klüber Lubrication, Chem-Trend and OKS, which are all leading brands in specific industries – are jointly taking part in the fair to present their solutions for China's western market together.
The "Go-West-Strategy", as stipulated in China's Five-Year-Plans, has been initiated by the Chinese central government in order to strengthen economic growth in the country's central and western provinces. "With numerous infrastructure and urban development projects which are either planned or on-going in Western China we see a huge market potential. Furthermore, our innovative solutions support and contribute to sustainable development in this region." said Bettina Schoen-Behanzin, Regional Representative Asia for the Freudenberg Group.
Whether in mobility & transport, energy & resources, industry & manufacturing, healthcare & the food industry, household & textiles or services, Freudenberg develops leading-edge technologies and excellent products, solutions and services for more than 30 market segments and for thousands of applications: seals, vibration control components, nonwovens, filters, specialty chemicals, medical products, IT services and the most modern cleaning products. The joint Freudenberg booth at WCIF will feature innovative filters from Freudenberg & Vilene Filter, specialty lubricants from Klüber Lubrication and OKS, release agents from Chem-Trend, as well as sealing solutions from EagleBurgmann.
The Group has invested over 2.5 billion RMB in China over the last decade. "Our long-term commitment in China is based on innovative, value-added solutions and proximity to the customer. Our development in Western China is key for Freudenberg's growth strategy in China," Bettina Schoen-Behanzin explained. The investment in the region includes a factory in Chengdu which has been operating since 2013. It produces filters for the Chinese automotive industry and serves as a logistics and service center for industrial filtration components and systems. By setting up the production site, Freudenberg has scaled up its domestic production capacity substantially in line with the increasing automotive production, and serves the Chinese market, especially the Central Western part of China.
Themed "Western China – World Opportunity", the WCIF 2016 will welcome guests from 88 countries and regions. Germany will be the "guest of honor" nation this year. A joint exhibition by Freudenberg and other German companies will be organized at a special "Germany Pavilion".
