Bettina Schoen-Behanzin appointed new Regional Representative Asia for the Freudenberg Group

Shanghai, July 05, 2016. Bettina Schoen-Behanzin, General Manager, Freudenberg Corporate Center (FRCC) Asia, has assumed the additional task of Regional Representative Asia effective July 1, 2016. She has been handed over this responsibility by Hanno D. Wentzler, CEO of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities and member of the Freudenberg Executive Council, after ten successful years of shaping the Freudenberg Group's presence, business and social engagement in China.

"Hanno Wentzler has shown great passion for and belief in China, especially the Chinese people. In his ten years as Regional Representative, he has set the direction, tone and basis for our current and future success. We are delighted to have won Bettina Schoen-Behanzin as his successor as Regional Representative – a highly competent and experienced manager who is just as passionate about China," said Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of the Freudenberg Group.

Since 2006, when Wentzler's time as Regional Representative began, sales in China have more than tripled to some 6 billion RMB in 2015 and the Chinese team has grown from around 3,000 to some 6,000 employees. Wentzler was a strong advocate of state-of-the-art HR processes and has promoted benchmark talent management. Thanks to him, the FRCC has become a highly professional competence center and the face of Freudenberg in China and South-East Asia. In addition, Wentzler has advanced Freudenberg's corporate citizenship activities in China. One example of his social engagement is the Ke De Bao primary school in Sichuan Province, which he has supported continuously after it was rebuilt with Freudenberg funding following the devastating earthquake in 2008.

Bettina Schoen-Behanzin, General Manager, Regional Corporate Center Asia, joined the Freudenberg Group in October 2012 as the Head of FRCC in Shanghai. She holds a degree in Sinology and business administration, has comprehensive experience from several management positions and has lived in China since 1996.

"In the name of the Freudenberg Group Board of Management, I thank Hanno Wentzler for his excellent contribution in the development of the Chinese market and the establishment of the Freudenberg Regional Corporate Center Asia and wish Bettina Schoen-Behanzin every success for the new challenges that lie ahead," said Dr. Mohsen Sohi
