The Freudenberg Group

The Freudenberg Group comprises 14 Business Groups operating independently on various markets all over the world. Our actions are motivated by the search to find the best solutions for our customers, since our own success is based on theirs. This has been the case for the last 158 years and remains our pledge for the future. We are therefore intensely committed to developing our ability for innovation in all fields even further. As a family company, we are guided by our long-term orientation, financial solidity and the excellence of our people in 53 countries around the globe.

We supply seals, vibration control technology components, filters, nonwovens, release agents and lubricants to almost all of the world's automakers, and the significance of customers from other branches of industry, such as mechanical and plant engineering, the energy and chemical industry or the medical and pharmaceutical sector, is continually gaining ground. A small share of our products is sold to final users under the vileda®, O'Cedar® and Wettex® brands.

Freudenberg is a family company. It is owned by some 300 heirs to the founding father Carl Johann Freudenberg. For us, though, the term "family company" means more than just the shareholder structure. We set high standards in our contacts with business partners and employees, and aim to be a good neighbor at all our sites. Values such as reliability, trust and enduring personal relationships play an important role. Combined with innovative strength, prudent entrepreneurship and the ability for constant change, these values are the foundation for our sustained success.

We see ourselves as an enterprising corporation. Operative business is the responsibility of standalone companies whose management conducts business autonomously. The individual companies belong to one of several Business Groups. The executive bodies of the parent company Freudenberg & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft - the Management Board, the Board of Partners and the Partners Meeting - have responsibilities similar to those of the Executive Board, the Supervisory Board and the Shareholders Meeting in German corporations. The parent company's Corporate Functions (similar to departments) control, coordinate and monitor the activities of the Freudenberg Group and provide advice and support to the Business Groups. The Management Board members are jointly responsible for the leader-ship of the Freudenberg Group.
